The 2008 Escape comes at us with a new body style and improved interior. Ford even went so far as to provide interior fabric made from recycled materials. As noted in the Mazda Tribute write-up, the Escape is a close cousin of the Tribute and mirrors its fuel economy and emissions ratings. However, the Escape is also considered more off-road worthy, especially when bringing the 4WD model into the conversation. However, it should be noted that the 4WD model does take a hit in fuel economy and technically does not make our Top Ten. Now that Ford has hit the big time with a hybrid SUV, we are curious to see when a hybrid car will be available.
